I'm not going to lie... I'm totally embarrassed to even be posting this video, but this is where my idea for the blog began, so I kind of owe it to the good ol' doe to follow through. The short of it is that I posted a picture of myself on Instagram after I had waved my hair, and a few friends wanted me to do a tutorial. Before I knew it, I had started up Doe a Deery. I hope all three of you who requested this enjoy it ;) AND, this is my first vlog, so don't judge too harshly. I'd love to do more, so let me know if you'd be interested in any of the following... contour and highlight your face, get a liquid liner look without the liquid, shape and fill your brows, or how to pump up your lips. But in all seriousness, I'm pretty low maintenance, this hairdo takes me all of about four minutes! Thanks for watching!
And for all of you who have no interest in my hair, here is a quote that has been on my mind as of late... "I walk slowly, but I never walk backward." --Abraham Lincoln
Great video! Your hair looks amazing! I love that quote at the end of the post, I feel like that describes my life right now, walking slowly!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting Bizzie! I feel like it describes my life ALL THE TIME!
DeleteI'm heating up my curling iron right now!
ReplyDeleteMake sure to send me pics!
DeleteJust glad your hair didn't burn off like another hair waving tutorial currently making the rounds on Facebook. You did a great job, btw
ReplyDeleteThanks megan! I am going to have to check that out!
DeleteI thought the same thing while I was watching this!
DeleteWhat size curling iron did you use? My hair is super think and I feel like it would take me forever!
ReplyDeleteJulie, thanks so much for commenting! It is a 1 1/2 inch curling iron. My hair is medium thickness, and I take good size sections of hair when I'm doing this. It adds to the loose look and makes it go much faster. Is your hair wavy? Straight? Curly?
DeleteMy hair has a slight wave to it when I air dry it, but when I blow dry it it's pretty stick straight.
DeleteYou should try it! If you have some wave in your hair to begin with, you can use bigger sections! Just use some hairspray before you start , brush through your hair and then curl.
DeleteI vote for makeup highlight/contour!
ReplyDeleteOkay! I got two requests for a brow fill/shape tutorial, so after that one, highlight and contour it is! I have been doing this for the past few months, and I think it adds a nice glow to my face without having to be pregnant!
Deletelove this.
ReplyDeleteSo I've been curling my hair for 15 years and I just learned a few things from this video!!! Thanks for sharing, and yes, you look so hot!!!
ReplyDeleteYay! This makes me so happy! Thanks Cat!

DeleteOh Rache,You look so pretty!! I loved watching this video because it felt like you were talking to me and I remembered how fun you are to talk to you.. made me miss you. You look great and I love your blog!! I actually came across it a particular week when I was sick of instagram and everyone's perfectly beautiful pictures and people's hundreds of comments that didnt feel real.. and then other blogs I would see where everything looked so "perfect".. so I'm loving your blog! congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Vanessa! It is fun to hear from you!
DeleteI finally tried this out yesterday - LOVED it! It normally takes so long to curl my hair that I was skeptical about how fast this would be but it took less than ten minutes (even for my first time)! I was surprised and will definitely be doing this again soon!
ReplyDeleteYay! So happy that it worked for you! I have to tell you, I'm such a fan of your family. All you sisters crack me up!
DeleteLove this!! I have been curling my hair this way since seeing this tutorial last week! Awesome tutorial!
